A bit about our Art Director
Rideau Art and Beads is directed by
Jeannette Froese LeBlanc
Jeannette has been an artist for the past 35
years, of which, 15 were spent as a
professional artist. She did the "show circuit"
for several years displaying and selling her
art at such exhibits as the Signature Show
and the One-of-A-Kind until she settled down
in Merrickville and opened her own studio.
She has been part of the regional artistic
community for the last 12 years. She is a
member of the Merrickville Artist Guild and
former member of the Ottawa Guild of
Potters. She was featured on "Regional
Contact" in 1998 for her unique ceramics
creations. Her creations can be found in
private collections all over the world and in a
number of Foreign Embassies.
Jeannette is "one of a kind" in that she is
experienced in several visual art mediums,
such as ceramics, painting, drawing,
jewellery making, stained glass among
others.
Jeannette is also a certified Ontario teacher
and has over 15 years of teaching experience
at all grades, including elementary,
high-school and college levels. She holds a
M.Sc.Ed, a graduate diploma in Studio Art, a
B.A in Canadian Studies, and several
College Diplomas in Fine Art. She is a
certified Art Clay Silver Senior Level
instructor, which allows her to teach beginner
to advanced level classes as well as certify
other instructors at both the Level 1 and
Senior Level.
